Trump admin live updates: Trump levies 50% tariff on Brazil, the world's leading coffee producer
President Donald Trump on Wednesday levied a 50% tariff against Brazil, which produces more than a third of the world's coffee, citing, in part, the country's treatment of former President Jair Bolsonaro, who is on trial before Brazil's Supreme Court for his alleged role in a 2023 coup attempt.
Earlier Wednesday, Trump's met in the State Dining Room with the leaders of Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, and Senegal to discuss areas of cooperation, including economic ties.
On the foreign policy front, an official told ABC News that the U.S. has resumed shipping some weapons to Ukraine after the Pentagon paused deliveries of the critically-needed supplies last week. Overnight, Russia launched what Ukrainian officials said was the largest aerial assault since the start of the war.
Trump names Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy acting head of NASA
President Donald Trump said he's naming Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy the acting administrator of NASA.
"Sean is doing a TREMENDOUS job in handling our Country’s Transportation Affairs, including creating a state-of-the-art Air Traffic Control systems, while at the same time rebuilding our roads and bridges, making them efficient, and beautiful, again," Trump wrote on his social media platform.

"He will be a fantastic leader of the ever more important Space Agency, even if only for a short period of time," Trump said in the post.
The previous nominee to lead NASA, Jared Isaacman, a billionaire with ties to Elon Musk, waspulled from considerationby the White House in late May just days before his scheduled confirmation vote.
